Dr. Melissa Rios is a bilingual clinical neuropsychologist with specialized training in lifespan neuropsychological assessment. She conducts comprehensive evaluations in both English and Spanish to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning across a wide range of conditions. Her assessments are tailored to help individuals, families, and providers better understand strengths and areas of need related to attention, memory, executive functioning, and learning.
Dr. Rios earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University and completed her APA-accredited internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Her postdoctoral fellowship is in Clinical Neuropsychology at Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Rios is licensed in California, New York, and Texas.
She has extensive experience evaluating individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, acquired brain injuries, and complex medical conditions. Dr. Rios has provided services across hospital, academic, and community-based settings and is formally trained in evidence-based instruments such as the ADOS-2. Beyond clinical work, she serves as adjunct faculty at multiple universities, teaching courses in assessment and psychotherapy, and has published research focused on culturally responsive neuropsychological assessment.
