Maya Jackson began her career in grants and program management in South Los Angeles, where a colleague encouraged her to apply to the Master of Social Work program at the University of Southern California. She went on to hold a range of clinical positions — from a clinical trainee at a residential substance use program in Los Angeles, to a clinical and administrative trainee in Kaiser Permanente’s psychiatric department in Anaheim, to providing therapy to young adults in Echo Park. She provides individual therapy to personal injury patients.
Specialization
Maya expanded her expertise in crisis intervention as a member of the Orange County Children’s CAT team, and has developed a clinical specialty in treating addiction and co-occurring disorders. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, relationship issues, and BIPOC and social justice concerns.

Maya draws on a range of clinical approaches, including strength-based intervention, solution-focused intervention, CBT, and DBT, tailored to each client’s needs.
