I began working in grants/program management in South Los Angeles where I met a colleague who suggested I apply to the MSW program at University of Southern California (USC). I then became a Trojan and went on to earn my master’s degree in Social Work. I’ve been fortunate to have held various clinical positions from a clinical trainee at a residential substance use program in Los Angeles, to a clinical and administrative trainee at Kaiser Permanente’s psychiatric department in Anaheim, to providing therapy to young adult others in Echo Park.
Specialization
I was able to expand my level of expertise in providing crisis evaluations as an Orange County Children’s CAT team member as well as have obtained clinical specialty via providing therapy to individuals who struggle with addiction and other co-occurring disorders. I find my clinical areas of expertise to align with clients who are seeking support with:
- depression
- anxiety
- trauma
- grief and loss
- addiction
- relationship issues
- and BIPOC/social justice issues
My clinical approaches vary from strength-based intervention, solution-focused intervention, CBT, and DBT. I am grateful for all my prior academic and employment chapters as they led me to my current practice and I look forward to continuing to grow and evolve as a clinician and servant of my community.
